Rainbow Bits Cowl
A super nice cowl! This cowl features rainbow silk and some sparkly fiber too! The white is from Cormo Sheep in California.
The cowl is 7 inches high and 22 inches long!
My Soft rating: 3/5
This is the process to make this cowl:
Wash Cormo Fleece to get rid of Lanolin and Suint( sheep sweat!). Washing requires using extremely hot water and a special soap. It takes 3 washes and 2 rinses to get the fleece nice and clean! You have to be gentle too while washing else felting can occur!
Next I dyed silk fiber in shades of the rainbow.
I then carded the white Cormo and Rainbow silk together on my drum carder. It usually takes at least a 4 passes to get a nice blend.
Then I spin the fiber on my Louet s10 spinning wheel.
Lastly I knit the cowl!
I do not use a knitting machine. I use my circular needles!
