So I recently finished spinning this lovely yarn that was dyed by Inglenookfibers on Etsy. It is a lovely blend of yak/silk that I just died for. I have a few others I need to spin but so many plans and so little time! Here is the skein.
Now if you follow them on Ravelry like I do you would know they are in the midst of the spin a long Snow Maiden. It is sooo pretty and I sooo wish I joined, but I admit I have a problem signing up for clubs where I do not know what I am getting. I will literally sit with a mysterious club in a cart for hours before chickening out. So I was pretty bummed when I saw such beautiful spun yarns happening. That is when I decided to do my own little spin a long. I found this image by Nicky Boehme to base my colors off of:
Then I got right to work combing cormo fleece that I washed and dying up fiber and then carding it into batts! It took quite a while! I do not think I have used my drum carder that much in at least a year. I got enough for 4 sets, one for me, and the other 3 I will list for sale tomorrow at 10 am.
You will get the 8 colors above. The fibers I used are cormo, alpaca, angora, mulberry silk, and mawatas. I used quite a bit of angora and alpaca so the batts are very fuzzy and expect a fuzzy yarn! Each set is almost 4.5 ounces and I only have 3 sets that I will sell for $40 each.
